What are the possibilities of CHAT BOTs being HACKED?

CHAT BOTs have become one of the common terminologies for all of us who are from technology backgrounds. Daily, we hear multiple news about new acquisition, mergers and heavy investment in Bot Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning. We all know AI Technology is moving very fast and with all these advancements, one question always hits on my mind - HOW SECURE WILL BE THIS chatbot?

We all know chat bots are programmed to understand human behavior. These bots learn and grow by interacting with humans and later on it uses this knowledge to provide us more personalized user experience. But now here is the catch, what if hackers decides to misguide BOTs? Consider a scenario where hackers create a similar misguiding BOT or may be a real person who interacts with your business BOT and try to inject incorrect behaviors with misleading human behavior and responses? How will chatbots be able to overcome such attacks and still behave in a normal way?

For normal businesses, misleading information may not be a major concern, but for a government organization, banking & finance sector, healthcare & medicine, incorrect information can really create a havoc.

Will IoT play a major role in automotive service sector?

Today, almost all industries are ready to embrace the power of technology and they all are trying to automate their current business operations with the help of technology. Out of all industries, automotive sector will be one of the major sectors which will see lots of new innovative and digital transformation. For most of the countries including Canada, USA, Europe, etc. automotive sector plays a major role in the country economy and so it would be very interesting to see how this industry will be adapting and accepting these new technologies.

Recently I was reading one article on how different software tools and IoT devices will be helping automotive industry in automating their production, operation, marketing & sales processes and this gave me a thought about starting a discussion about how technology will be utilized in the automotive services sector. As we all know, automotive service sector plays a major role in the automotive ecosystem. These days, manufacturing companies are investing a lot to smoothen up their customer experience when they visit next time to service their car or vehicle.

Having said that, I believe, IoT will be playing a major role in transforming our traditional automotive service industry. Coming days, we may see smart OBD (On-board diagnostics) devices embed within our vehicles itself. These devices will be operating like a smart IoT which will keep the track of our vehicles and will automatically be performing a self-health check on a regular basis and will further be notifying to the vehicle user.

Process can be like

- Moment vehicle owner starts using their vehicle, these smart devices will start capturing different data of vehicles.
- These data can include different useful information like total distance travel, last time when a vehicle serviced, tire pressure level of all wheels, oil check level, wear n tear details about different vehicle parts, and lots more.
- All these information will be available to vehicle users on their smartphones which can help them further to plan their future decisions about when to schedule a service, when to change any particular spare part, when to fill in air pressure in tire, etc.
- We can think of a scenario, where a vehicle will automatically start transferring all data into a mechanic’s database right at the moment as it enters into a garage, rather than a mechanics & service man manually checking it.

What else you can think off?
